New single by Jessie Funk:  Susan’s song: “A Dream Away,”

Susan’s Song: “A Dream Away,” was written by Camilyn Morrison after the tragic events in February 2012. It is a beautiful song from the perspective of Susan and her boys, written as a message of love and hope that Braden and Charlie are safely back inside their mother’s arms.
Brief history: Susan Cox Powell went missing from her home on December 6, 2009. Her husband, Josh Powell, became the primary person of interest in the case. On February 5, 2012 Josh Powell murdered their two sons–Charlie, age 7 and Braden, age 5–and then killed himself by setting the house on fire.

Verse 1: (Point of View: From Susan to the boys)

Please find your knees
Don’t cry while I sleep
I’m still there with you
I still feel you too
I’m still there inside your arms
Like a prayer close to your heart

Close your eyes you’ll see
That you’re still with me
Blowing kisses in the breeze
Laughing under autumn leaves

Chorus 1:
I long to see you, I long to hold you
Inside my arms again
But until then please don’t cry
Keep our memories alive
I’ll be a dream away
Until the day I wake

Verse 2: (From Susan to Family/Friends)
Please celebrate
Don’t wait till I wake
Dry your tears with mine
Save them for the time
We say that first hello
Instead of tears let memories flow, please don’t be afraid
I’m not far away
Like balloons let memories rise
Till they color your gray skies

(Repeat Chorus 1)

Verse 3: (From Susan and boys to family & friends)
With their hands in mine
They left just in time
They were safe inside God’s arms
Before they both felt any harm

Please don’t be afraid
We’re not far away
We’re blowing kisses in the breeze
Playing games of hide and seek

Chorus 3:
We long to see you
We long to hold you
Inside our arms again
But until then please don’t cry
Keep our memories alive
We’ll be a dream away
Until the day we wake

Bridge:
Just to see their face
Just to know they’re safe
I would carry any cross
Give my life if that’s the cost

Return Chorus:
Now I can see them
Now I can hold them
Inside my arms again

So instead of goodbye
Keep our memories alive
We’ll be a dream away
Until the day we wake

God always find a way.
